Seattle Arboretum and Japanese Garden

We have walked around the Mercer Slough wetlands park and the Wilburton Botanical Garden several times this year and always see something different. On Mar 10 we wanted to do something else and went to the arboretum to see the rhodies. They were superb and more pictures will be added to this page as I get time to figure out which ones to show.

While testing the site operation I have just these five, but all are worth a good look!

We happened upon a small pond during our walk in the arboretum. I particularly liked the contrast of colors and hues.
It is an unusual grass and the picture does not do it justice. This grass is really black!
These tulips are incredibly brightly colored. They stood out from the crowd. I was pleased with this picture.
We moved on to the the Japanese garden across the street from the arboretum. I have never seen a more magnificent magnolia and was glad to have captured this one forever.
This picture pretty well sums up a beautiful day. The sun was shining as there was not a cloud in the sky all day. The warmth of the sun's rays said winter is over, spring is here and it's going to be a really great summer!
